Description
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's drm/xe/guc module. This vulnerability arises from a race condition during the asynchronous destruction of the Graphics micro-controller (GuC) execution queues. If the device reference is released prematurely, it can lead to a deadlock within the Direct Rendering Manager (DRM) cleanup process. This deadlock can cause the affected system or component to become unresponsive, resulting in a Denial of Service (DoS).
Statement
This issue affects Intel Xe graphics with GuC submission. Async queue destroy can deadlock when final device put runs from the destroy worker on the same workqueue. Systems without Intel Xe are not affected.
