Description
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's RDMA/irdma driver. The driver utilized a waitqueue and a request_done flag for synchronization without adequate memory barriers. This oversight could lead to a race condition, potentially causing unpredictable system behavior or instability.
Statement
This vulnerability is rated with a Low severity impact because exploiting this race condition requires local system access and specific hardware configurations utilizing the Intel RDMA (irdma) driver. Under standard Red Hat Enterprise Linux deployments, the irdma module is only loaded and engaged when supported Intel Ethernet adapters are present and actively configured for RDMA operations. Consequently, unprivileged local users cannot easily trigger this condition, and any potential impact is restricted to localized system instability or denial of service.
