Description
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's drm/rockchip: inno-hdmi driver. This vulnerability is due to improper memory management, where a critical data structure is deallocated before it is no longer needed. An attacker could exploit this use-after-free condition to potentially cause a system crash, leading to a denial of service, or possibly execute arbitrary code.
Statement
This vulnerability is rated as Moderate severity because exploitation requires local access with the ability to trigger display unbind operations, limiting the primary impact to a local denial of service. The affected subsystem is tied to specific Rockchip display hardware, which is uncommon in enterprise server deployments. Red Hat Enterprise Linux releases are not affected as the flawed upstream implementation is not present in supported enterprise kernels.
