Description
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's SELinux subsystem. When processing security class values, the security_get_classes() function could return a null pointer if a class value was not properly defined by the security policy. This could lead to a null pointer dereference, potentially causing a system crash or denial of service.
Statement
This vulnerability is rated as having a Low severity because triggering the issue requires loading a malformed or non-conforming policy, which demands elevated administrative privileges. Default SELinux policies provided across Red Hat Enterprise Linux are fully conforming and define every declared class, meaning standard deployments are not exposed. As a result, the flaw cannot be exploited in typical production configurations without an administrator intentionally installing an invalid custom policy.
