Description
A flaw was found in OpenJDK within the Java Authentication and Authorization Service (JAAS) component. An unauthenticated remote attacker can exploit this vulnerability over a network by sending data to affected application programming interfaces (APIs). Successful exploitation results in information disclosure, granting unauthorized read access to a subset of accessible data.
Statement
This vulnerability is rated as Moderate because exploitation is limited to partial information disclosure without compromising system integrity or service availability. For Red Hat environments, exposure is restricted to applications that accept external user inputs and process them through the OpenJDK JAAS LDAP authentication modules. Workloads that do not utilize JAAS for directory service logins or that sanitize input prior to authentication calls are not exposed to this risk.
