Description
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's NTFS filesystem driver. The ntfs_ir_to_ib() function fails to validate the size of entries when copying them from an index root into a buffer. This oversight allows a local attacker, by mounting a specially crafted NTFS filesystem image, to trigger a heap out-of-bounds write. This can lead to memory corruption and potentially a denial of service.
