Description
A flaw was found in the hinic3 network driver in the Linux kernel. This vulnerability occurs when the driver incorrectly handles skb (socket buffer) linearization, leading to a mismatch in the fragment count used for building transmit descriptors. This can result in out-of-bounds Direct Memory Access (DMA) reads or Input/Output Memory Management Unit (IOMMU) faults, potentially allowing an attacker to cause a denial of service or information disclosure. Additionally, the flaw could lead to the transmission of corrupted packets with incomplete checksums.
