Description
A flaw was found in the FireWire core component of the Linux kernel. In the build_tree() function's error path, node instances can remain in a local linked list when the function returns after detecting an invalid value in the self ID sequence. This memory leak could allow a local attacker to consume system resources, potentially leading to a denial of service (DoS).
