Description

A flaw was found in the Linux kernel, specifically affecting ARM architectures with PREEMPT_RT enabled. A local attacker can trigger a Denial of Service (DoS) by utilizing CPU timers, such as through setrlimit or setitimer. This occurs because the kernel attempts to acquire a sleeping lock (sighand->siglock) from an invalid context when CPU timers expire in a hard interrupt request (IRQ) context, leading to a system crash.
