Description
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel. A local user could potentially trigger a deadlock within the kernel's memory management, specifically related to the mmap_lock mechanism. This issue arises when the arena_vm_fault() function attempts to retry a memory fault without correctly releasing a previously held lock, causing the mmap_lock to be acquired redundantly. This could lead to a system-wide Denial of Service (DoS), making the system unresponsive.
