Description
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's iwlwifi driver. This vulnerability is caused by a division-by-zero error within the iwl_dbg_tlv_alloc_fragments function when the number of fragments is zero. This could lead to a system crash, resulting in a Denial of Service (DoS).
Statement
This vulnerability is classified as Low severity because it requires local access and affects only the Intel Wi-Fi (iwlwifi) driver, leading to a denial of service through a system crash without affecting data confidentiality or integrity. In standard Red Hat Enterprise Linux server environments, wireless networking hardware is rarely deployed or utilized, significantly restricting potential exposure. As a result, the practical risk is limited to physical workstations or client systems equipped with supported Intel wireless adapters.
