Description
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's ntfs3 file system driver. The driver fails to validate that directory index entry key sizes stay within their allocated payload boundaries. A local user could exploit this flaw by mounting or accessing a specially crafted NTFS file system image, triggering an out-of-bounds memory read during directory lookup. This vulnerability can lead to a Denial of Service (DoS) through a kernel crash or potential information disclosure.
