Description
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's Integrity Measurement Architecture (IMA). When opening files on a read-only ext4 filesystem during boot, IMA attempts to update extended file attributes without properly verifying whether changes are permitted. This triggers a journal transaction failure and a kernel warning, which may allow a local user to cause a Denial of Service (DoS) if the system is configured to halt on warnings.
