Description
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's mount propagation subsystem. The kernel fails to properly verify whether certain propagated mount copies are still actively in use before completing an unmount operation. A local user could exploit this flaw by configuring specific nested mount hierarchies across namespaces to force an active mount to detach. This can lead to application disruption or a Denial of Service (DoS) when in-use file systems are unexpectedly unmounted.
