Description

A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's TIPC (Transparent Inter-Process Communication) subsystem. A local user could exploit this flaw to cause a Denial of Service (DoS) or potential memory corruption. The vulnerability arises from a race condition during topology server shutdown, where connections are closed while background tasks are still processing. By triggering connection activity or subscription events during teardown, an attacker can cause a use-after-free condition or kernel lockup, resulting in a system crash.
