Description

A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's virtual socket (VSOCK) virtio implementation. A local user can trigger a denial of service (DoS) due to an integer underflow in receive byte accounting. When an application performs a partial read on a stream socket, the kernel incorrectly calculates the remaining unread data, causing socket operations to report improper errors or stall queued communications.
